The D’Houet house is top dog at FCJ College for the time being after a strong athletics day performance last week.

FCJ College held its athletics carnival at Churchill Reserve last Tuesday.

Among the events on the day were high jump, long jump, javelin, discus, shot put and the 100m sprint.

The school’s year 12 students enjoyed themselves as they had fun dressing as characters from the 1980s era, spandex and all.

The D’Houet house came out on top on the day, amassing 5914 points. In second was Hughes house, close behind with 5867. Third was Davy house on 4615 points.

The fastest female student to complete the 100m sprint was year nine Pia Salvadori. She went the distance in 13.78 seconds.

Meanwhile, the fastest male student in the 100m was year 12 Nathan Hill. He completed the race in 12.22 seconds.
