Benalla Badminton Club’s grand final night went down to the wire, with the last game of the night deciding the title.

After convincing semi-final wins the week before, Muscat faced Merlot in the grand final last week, held at the Benalla Indoor Recreation Centre.

The final was so close that after the game finished, the players did not know, which side had won.

The scores were tallied and it was found that Merlot had defeated Muscat 126-123.

The summer season grand final was played with intensity and in good spirit, with the scoreline suggesting it was a battle from the outset.

The club is now on recess until after the Easter holidays, and we will be back with its first practice and grading night on the April 19.

The winter season will start shortly afterwards.

The club invites anyone who would like to have a hit, no matter what level they play at, to come down to the Benalla Indoor Recreation Centre at 7.30pm on April 19.
