Benalla

John Spencer took out last week’s stableford event with more than 70 players competing.

Seventy-one players enjoyed great weather competing in a stableford event.

John Spencer was winner of A-grade with a score of 40 points. Graham Squires was runner-up with 38 points.

B-grade went to Brian Hollins on countback from Reg Symes, both on 40 points. C-grade saw Timothy Moore also with 40 points placing Russell Day second on 37 points countback.

On Saturday, a stableford event was held with 65 players.

A-grade went to Trevor Squires on countback from Michael Liddington with a score of 37 points.

B-grade was also won on a countback by Alan May from Gary Woodman, both players having 39 points.

Again on countback, C-grade was won by Damion Cassidy from Graham Ellis with 39 points.

Women’s golf

A stroke round was played last Thursday with 13 players.

The winner was Val Nicholas 104 (30) 74. Ball competition: J. Brauman 76, H. Crilly 77, G. Gilchrist 80.

Nearest-the-pin: Milner-Watson Pharmacy 8th, H.Crilly; 14th H. Crilly.

On Saturday, a stableford round was played.

The winner was Jessie Milner with 36 points. Ball competition: D. Shanks 34, V. Nicholas 33.

This week a stableford round for three grades sponsored by Val Nicholas will be played on Thursday, and a stroke round on Saturday.
