Lions given $2000 for Carols by Candlelight

By Simon Ruppert

Bendigo Bank has joined with Benalla Rural City in supporting the Benalla Lions Carols by Candlelight with a combined donation of $3000.

Council had already granted the event $1000, when the above photo was taken of Lions Club president Graham Milner gratefully accepting a cheque for $2000.

Regional rents soaring but Benalla still affordable

“Lions are extremely grateful to receive the support of both the Bendigo Bank and Benalla Rural City as the cost of hosting the carols has been going up each year,” Mr Milner said.

Bendigo Bank Benalla branch manager Jenny Lee said they were pleased to be able to help.

“We are delighted to support the lions with this event as it is great for the community,” Ms Lee said.

AED now accessible on Bridge St

The carols will be held in the Botanical Gardens at the Rotunda on December 22 from 7 pm.

It is a whole-of-community event featuring the Rose City Band, Benalla P-12 College Band and the Benalla Theatre group.
