Young Benalla footballers experience the might of the MCG

By Benalla Ensign

Thirty Benalla youngsters had the chance to run out onto the hallowed turf of the MCG on Sunday, after Benalla Auskick was invited to participate in the half-time program for the Richmond and West Coast clash.

In what was an exciting day for all the players – with every one of them coming off the ground with a huge smile on their face – 20 players lined up for a rules game, while the other 10 played in the grid games.

After their matches, a number of players ran the boundary getting high fives off the crowd while others were lucky enough to high five the West Coast Eagles as they returned to the field for the second half.

The cohort was made up of third to fifth graders, with nine on-the-ground adults making the trip to Melbourne to assist.

Flying high: Sporting West Coast Eagles colours, 20 BenallaAuskickers took to the middle of the MCG to take on the Tigers.
